I was reading through some old journals recently and came across this one. It encouraged me so I thought it might be worth sharing. I originally wrote this on 5/6/2020:
The goal of overcoming our battle with fear should never be just to “feel peace”. What we should be working towards is a full time commitment to seek God in everything we do…to make Him the first thought we have when the morning greets us, to ask for His wisdom and covering for the day that is before us, to praise Him during our day for His provision and love, to ask Him His desire for our lives and all the moment by moment decisions that shape it, to train our minds to listen for His voice, to rebuke the lies of the enemy and replace them with the truth of God’s word, to stop and look around every once in a while to marvel and thank God for all He has done. An amazing thing happens when we start to practice these things…all of our cares fade away, we stop focusing on what we feel or what we think we need, we stop giving the enemy any territory to work with, that self-gaze turns instead to our Creator, the Holy Spirit releases energy and confidence for everything we set our hands to…and then do you know what comes next? Peace…peace for who we are, what we have and what God is doing in us. When we completely surrender to the one who is All and has All, everything else is taken to the refining fire. It will either get cleansed to God’s standards or it will vanish in the Holy Fire.
